Licensed Psychologist
People come to see me for many different reasons. Some are experiencing specific
symptoms such as depressed mood, panic attacks, or body and weight concerns. Others
are having difficulties in their relationship with a partner, family of origin,
or friend. Still others are seeking a greater understanding of themselves and greater
life satisfaction. There are many reasons for entering therapy, and I try to tailor
my approach to each individual I see. Psychotherapy is most successful when the
client feels supported and understood. I work hard to create a supportive environment
in which we can collaboratively explore problems and solutions. It is my opinion
that the best solutions come from a full and deep understanding of the problem.
I often help clients to look at the origins of their symptoms and complaints, exploring
past experiences to better understand what is happening in the present. Specific
techniques can be helpful, but I do not believe one intervention fits all. I aim
to empower my clients to work toward living a fuller, more satisfying life. Together,
we will develop personalized solutions that will implement lasting change.
I am a licensed psychologist. I completed my education at Washington University
in St. Louis (B.A.) and The Illinois School of Professional Psychology (M.A. and
Psy.D.). My pre-doctoral and postdoctoral training was completed at the University
of Wisconsin’s Counseling & Consultation Services and Marquette University’s Counseling
Center. I work with adults and teenagers, and provide individual and couples therapy.
I see a broad range of presenting problems, including depression, anxiety, stress,
relationship concerns, grief, sexual assault, sexuality and sexual orientation issues,
perinatal and parenting concerns, career uncertainty, and life transitions. I also
specialize in working with eating disorders and body image concerns. I am an ally
and supporter of those who identify as LGBTQI.
Please call to schedule an appointment or to discuss your questions about entering
therapy. I will be happy to provide an over-the-phone consultation, free of charge.
I can be reached at (608) 698-0201.
